Update: Pedestrian Killed on I-84 Southington Is Identified
The victim was a Plainville resident.

Update: 1:18 p.m.
Police have identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a tractor trailer on I-84 on the Plainville-Southington border as 31-year-old Anthony Patrick Toscano of Plainville, according to NBC Connecticut.
Toscano was standing in the right lane of the highway between exits 32 and 33 when he was struck by the truck about 4 a.m. Monday.

Update: The victim has died, according to Fox CT. The right lane is still closed as of 9:10 a.m., according to the state DOT.

Original story: A tractor-trailer hit a pedestrian on Interstate 84 West at the Plainville-Southington line shortly before 4 a.m. Monday.
State police are continuing their investigation at the crash scene that Connecticut Department of Transportation reports is between exits 32 and 33.
The DOT reports the right and center lanes are closed.
NBC Connecticut reports there are major delays in the area. Details on the victim’s injuries weren’t immediately available.
