Traffic Rules Posted for Southington Italian-American Festival

Police have posted traffic rules for the Southington Italian-American Festival.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Police have posted traffic rules for the Southington Italian-American Festival, which is scheduled for Friday through Sunday.

The festival is located on Center Street between North Liberty Street and High Street (previously Factory Square). That section of roadway will be closed to all vehicular traffic starting on Friday at 6 a.m. It will remain closed through Sunday at 10 p.m., police said.

A no parking order will be in effect during that time, police said.

The Festival Hours are:

  • Friday July 27, 5 to 11 p.m.
  • Saturday July 28, 1 to 11 p.m.
  • Sunday July 29, 2018 1 to 6 p.m.

  • Vehicles will be detoured around the festival using High Street to North Liberty or Center Street.
  • Liberty Street traffic can use either North Liberty to High Street or South Center to High Street.

Parking

  • There will be NO parking on both sides of High Street, from North Main to Center Street; Center Street, from High Street to Water Street; all of South Center Street; Liberty Street from Columbus Avenue to North Liberty Street; and all of North Liberty Street.
  • The east side of South Center Street has a painted white line, which runs the length of the Rails to Trails. Parking will be allowed inside the white line.
  • Handicap parking will be provided in the municipal parking lot on North Liberty Street. Cars with permits can enter the lot from North Liberty Street.
Special Events
  • There will be an outside church mass held on Sunday on the stage at 10 a.m. and then a Blessed Saint Procession starting at approximately 11 a.m. (after the mass) through the local streets.
