Truck Crash Leaves Amber Wave of Grain on I-84 in Southington

SOUTHINGTON, CT — State police had to shut down a section of Interstate-84 just before the evening rush hour when a tractor-trailer spilled grain all over the highway.

State police said the truck rolled over at the Interstate-85 Exit 28 interchange in Southington. Grain went flying out and covered all three lanes, state police said.

State police managed to keep the left-hand lane open but the right and center lanes were closed while a state Department of Transportation crew traveled to the scene.

The driver suffered a minor injury, state police said.
