Truck Hits Wires, Which Drag Down Pole in Southington
A truck took out wires and a pole in Southington on Thursday.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A high truck took out some low wires in Southington on Thursday.
At 10:35 p.m. Thursday, Southington police received a report that the top right front corner of a tractor-trailer made contact with a set of utility wires on Spring Street near the intersection of Queen Street.
As a result, a utility pole in the parking lot of 20 Spring St. (the former Bertucci’s restaurant) was pulled to the ground.

The pole had several transformers attached to it, police said.
Wires were down across Spring Street at the intersection of Queen Street.

No injuries were reported.
The Southington Fire Dept. responded to the scene as well as Eversource Energy and that area of Spring Street was closed off until about 2:30 p.m., police said.
