Tuesday's Storm Pads the Spring Stats for Mount Southington
More than a foot of snow fell at the Southington ski area on Tuesday.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Two things came out of Tuesday's snowstorm for Mount Southington — 18 inches of fresh cover and a governor's travel ban that meant the trails were untouched prior to a sunny snow day.
Ski area officials sent out a powder alert on social media Wednesday morning.
What once was a scary situation heading into the spring skiing and riding season has now turned into base depths of 24-to-50 inches, mountain officials said. Mount Southington had 14 trails and four lifts running Wednesday, when most schools were not in session.
