Southington police also released details of the April 14 incident at the Motel 6.
According to police, officers were dispatched at about 10 p.m. that night to the Motel 6 on Queen Street, Southington, for a reported robbery.
Police said a hotel guest reported hearing a disturbance in a neighboring room, followed by a 911 call from a victim.
That victim, police said, reported he was just assaulted by two males wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts and, possibly, were carrying knives.
According to officers, multiple witnesses said they heard the disturbance and saw two white males walk away from the victim's room, cross the parking lot and jump a small wall before entering a vehicle.
Citing the victim, police said that person reported hearing a knock at his room's door.
When he opened the door, the two men pushed their way into his room, closing the door behind them, police said Monday.
Reportedly, the suspects pushed the victim down, held him, while the other male went through the victim's pants and jacket pockets, police said.
The victim said the men threatened him, saying "We have a gun," according to police.
The men reportedly made off with $750 in cash and an unknown amount of gift cards, police said, adding both of the suspects were not known to the victim.
During the subsequent investigation, police said surveillance video from Motel 6 provided sufficient details to identify the subjects.
Southington police said this did not appear to be a random crime and the victim was targeted.
