• Xavion Dwight McMillian, 20, of Wolcott Street, Waterbury, for interfering with a police officer; first-degree larceny; weapons in a motor vehicle; theft of a motor vehicle; and misuse of marker plates.

He was taken into custody on $300,000 and he appeared in New Britain Superior Court June 21.

According to police, officers were called to Moe's on June 20 for a report of a disturbance there.

Upon arrival, police noticed a white BMW sedan parked there matching the description of a vehicle that eluded Southington police a few weeks before, the SPD said.

Police said the BMW was a 2018 BMW 750 with Connecticut license plates.

Officers approached the vehicle to investigate and they took Mayes into custody, the lone occupant in the car at the time.

A check of the vehicle's VIN showed it was stolen out of New York, police said.

A few minutes later, police said a male exited the Moe's and started walking toward the BMW.

Police said the man, later identified as McMillian, went to the driver's side door when officers attempted to take him into custody.

McMillian began to flee and foot and a short foot pursuit ensued, with the suspect being taken into custody at the front entrance of Moe's without further incident, police said.

The SPD searched the motor vehicle and found a Smith & Wesson MP15 rifle (.22 caliber) that was registered to McMillian and an SCCY 9MM pistol.
