Two More Statues Stolen Off Gravestones At Southington's St. Thomas Cemetery
The investigation into several thefts is active and ongoing, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - Police are on the hunt for thieves who removed more statues from gravestones at St. Thomas Cemetery.
During the overnight hours on May 4 into May 5, two marble statues were stolen off the stones, police said.
St. Thomas Cemetery is located on Meriden Avenue.

The Tuesday-Wednesday incident is the latest there, police said. Since January there have been six additional reported instances of statutes being removed from gravestones, police said
"Our officers have concentrated in the area in an effort to thwart these types of thefts," Southington police said in a statement released Thursday. "We ask for the public’s assistance with apprehending the person(s) responsible for these thefts."

Police said if residents see "any suspicious individual in and around the cemetery" they can are contact an officer at 86-621-0101 and report the activity.
