Two Southington Liquor Stores Caught in Underage Sting: Police

SOUTHINGTON, CT – Two local liquor establishments were caught in an underage sting conducted by Southington police last week.

On Nov. 17, officers, in conjunction with the local police STEPS, or Southington Town-wide Effort to Promote Success program, conducted an alcohol compliance check operation throughout town, police said.

Police said they went to 25 shops and two sold alcohol to a 19-year-old.

Police said the two establishments were:

• Wine Works – 1700 West St. The employee was Doddapaneni, Karthik , 26 of Newington.
• Queen Street Liquors – 1079 Queen St. The employee was Pedroso, Phoenix, 22, of Bristol.

Both employees who sold the alcohol were charged with inducing a minor to possess alcohol (or the sale of alcohol to a minor), police said. They were each released on a $500 non-surety bond and are scheduled to appear in the Bristol Superior Court on Nov. 28, police said.

• World Wide Wine and Spirits – 480 Queen St.
• Liquor Outlet – 400 North Main St.
• West Side Spirits – 718 West St.
• Country Farm Convenience – 682 West St.
• Price Chopper – 410 Queen St.
• Shoprite – 750 Queen St.
• Stop and Shop – 505 North Main St.
• Southington Wine and Spirits – 235 Queen St.
• Tops Market – 887 M&W Road.
• Dairy Farms – 68 Berlin St.
• Dairy Farms – 64 South Center St
• Little Red Store – 252 Marion Ave.
• Lefty’s Imported and Domestic Wines – 1207 South Main St.
• South Main Liquors – 857 South Main St
• Sassy Liquors – 264 M&W Road.
• Super 66 Liquors – 975 M&W Road.
• Millldale Liquor – 1664 M&W Road.
• Southington Colonial Spirits – 255 Berlin Ave.
• Bridge Wine and Spirits – 133 West Center St.
• Wineland – 1543 Meriden Waterbury Road.
