United Way of Southington Seeks Key Grant Applications From Community
Southington nonprofits can apply for United Way funding through April 17 for programs meeting key community needs.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — The United Way of Southington has opened applications for its 2026–27 community program funding cycle, inviting local organizations to seek support for initiatives addressing the town’s most pressing needs.
The application period runs through April 17.
Funding is available to programs serving residents of Southington, with an emphasis on measurable impact in areas such as education, financial stability, health access, and community resilience.

Each year, the organization distributes locally raised funds to programs designed to produce “lasting, positive change,” including efforts to help children succeed in school, strengthen family finances, and expand access to health resources.
Brendan Goodrich, chairperson of the allocations committee, emphasized that the funding is reinvested directly into the community.

“As chair of the allocations committee, I’m proud to share that every dollar raised here in Southington stays right here in Southington,” Goodrich said. “Our grant process ensures that funds contributed by our neighbors are thoughtfully invested in programs that directly support Southington residents. It’s a powerful example of local generosity creating meaningful, measurable impact in our own community.”
Eligibility requirements include:
- Addressing a critical need within the Southington community
- Demonstrating measurable outcomes and impact
- Aligning with one or more focus areas: Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, Healthy Community, or Community Resiliency
- Maintaining a sustainable funding plan
Next steps: Interested organizations must submit completed applications by April 17. Funding decisions will follow the review process conducted by the allocations committee.
