Varsity Schedules Set to Begin in Southington

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Schools are all now back in session throughout Connecticut, and athletic teams have been practicing for nearly two weeks. Looking forward, opening day for Southington High School varsity squads is literally just around the corner.

Here are the scheduled regular season openers for Blue Knight teams:

• girls soccer - Friday, Sept. 8 at Hall, 3:45 p.m.
• boys soccer - Friday, Sept. 8 vs. Hall, 6 p.m.
• girls volleyball - Friday, Sept. 8 vs. Hall, 6 p.m.
• football - Friday, Sept. 8 at Glastonbury, 6:30 p.m.
• field hockey - Tuesday, Sept. 12 vs. Northwest Catholic, 3:45 p.m.
• girls swimming - Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Rocky Hill, 3:45 p.m.
• cross country - Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Manchester, 4 p.m.
