The veteran school official has been on the Southington Board of Education for 34 years, which isn't even the longest tenure in his family.

While Derynoski has served 33 years on the board of education, he's not even the longest-serving school board member in his family.
According to Democrats, his uncle, Walter Derynoski was on the school board for 41 years and Derynoski Elementary School is named after him.
