Video: Mount Southington's Snowy Opening Day
Mountain officials said the hill is in good shape for the holiday vacation week.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Mount Southington could not have asked for a better opening day for the 2016-17 season, especially when it comes to scaring away the paranoia left behind the warm, dry winter a year ago.
The factors lined up — cold temperatures days ahead of the scheduled opening that made snowmaking conditions close to ideal. Then came the snow on Saturday's opening day.
