SOUTHINGTON, CT — A violent incident last week led to several charges against a Southington man, police said.

Joshua Bonvie, 23, was charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and second-degree strangulation, according to a report.

An argument on Feb. 14 turned violent and Bonvie started throwing items around a local apartment and then attacked the victim in the case with a "bar speaker," according to a report.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at an area medical center, police said.
