Weather Alters Southington School Schedule Tuesday
Some severe weather has prompted school officials to change Tuesday's class schedule.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The remnants of this past weekend's snow and ice storm, coupled with a severe wind chill advisory, has prompted school officials in Southington to follow the 2-hour delayed opening schedule Tuesday.
Overnight temperatures dropped below zero in most of Hartford and Tolland counties, and a National Weather Service alert calls for a wind chill advisory until 8 a.m. Tuesday. Very cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero are anticipated, which could result in frostbite and hypothermia if precautions are not taken. The weather service advises anyone going outdoors to wear a hat and gloves.
