Well-Known Southington Dance Studio Celebrates New Location
The studio celebrated its 25th anniversary last week and it will celebrate its new location later this month.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A well-known dance studio in Southington not only celebrated its 25th anniversary Thursday, it's preparing for a major move to a new site locally later this month.
">According to the Southington Chamber of Commerce, Dance City & The Arts has a ribbon-cutting celebrating its move and anniversary.
The studio is going to a new location at 168 Center St., Suite B.

"It was only fitting to welcome the owner, Julie (Rizzo), & her team into their new space on the studio's 25th anniversary of the day they opened their doors in 1998," wrote the Southington Chamber. "They were even able to hang the original sign up right when you walk into the studio."
Later this month, that milestone will be celebrated via an official grand opening.

Chamber officials said Dance City & The Arts will be hosting that celebration on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 2 p.m., with Southington and surrounding residents invited to attend.
Rizzo captured that excitement on the studio's social media this week.
She said the grand opening celebration is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 23.
"Words could not possibly describe how much anticipation has surrounded this huge step," Rizzo wrote. "We are honored to be able to continue our legacy in Southington and offer our classes in this SPECTACULAR studio space."
Rizzo said students, parents, alumni and community members are invited to the celebration, which will feature face painting, a dance party, cupcakes and more.
Her operation specializes in a diverse array of dance styles, from hip hop to jazz to ballet and tap.
