West Hartford Man Accused In Southington Of Impersonating Cop: Police
The Southington Police Department charged the 43-year-old suspect Sunday after a brouhaha at a local supermarket parking lot.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A West Hartford resident has been charged with pretending to be a police officer in Southington during a disturbance at a local supermarket Sunday.
The Southington Police Department Tuesday said Seth Tichenor, 43, of West Hartford, was charged with impersonation of a police officer and second-degree breach of peace on Sunday, Feb. 2.
Police said Tichenor was released after posting a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court Feb. 14.

According to the SPD, at approximately 3:57 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the Stop & Shop located at 505 N. Main St. in Southington for a verbal argument that ensued between patrons within the parking lot.
Officers determined an involved adult male, later identified as Tichenor, had left the scene prior to officers' arrival, police said.

The SPD said statements were gathered from the adult victim and a witness that Tichenor had identified himself as a Southington police officer and provided a badge number to further identify himself.
Tichenor was taken into custody and charged with impersonation of a police officer and
breach of peace.
