Woman Arrested for Incident at Southington TJMaxx

A woman was charged after an incident at the Southington TJMaxx.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A woman was arrested after an incident at the Southington TJMaxx store, police said,

On Monday, Frances Hinman, 60, was charged with sixth-degree larceny and interfering with an officer, police said.

The charge resulted from the accused entering TJ. Maxx at 875 Queen St. and allegedly attempting to steal various jewelry items and clothing valued at $100.98, police said.

Hinman placed the items in her purse and was stopped by loss prevention associates
as she attempted to exit the store, police said.

The merchandise was recovered, but Hinman was not cooperative with officers at the scene, police said.
