Woman Arrested For Lincoln College Harassment Incident

A woman has been arrested on harassment charges for her actions with a staffer at Southington's Lincoln College, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A woman has been arrested on second-degree harassment charges for her actions with the staff of a Southington-based college doomed to close, police said.

On Dec. 7, Annette Scatton, 27, surrendered at the Southington Police Department after learning of an outstanding warrant for her arrest.

She is a former student at Lincoln College, located at 2279 Mount Vernon Road, and is accused of harassing a member of the faculty via email and Facebook Messenger, according to a report.

She had been warned not to have contact with the staff member, police said.

The warrant charged her with four counts of second-degree harrassment, police said. She was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court on Dec. 17, according to a report.

In August, citing accreditation issues, Lincoln College of New England officials announced the school would be closing at the end of the current semester. No new students were admitted for the fall, and on Dec. 31, the doors will close, interim president Jim Vernon said in a letter to the school community. Read more here.
