Woman Badly Hurt After Being Hit By Vehicle In Southington: Police
The incident happened Monday night in front of a local gas station.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A 32-year-old woman was seriously injured Monday night after being struck by a motor vehicle.
According to the Southington Police Department, the incident happened at about 9:35 p.m. Monday, when officers were called to West Street and Jude Lane for a reported motor vehicle collision.
Arriving units learned a vehicle was traveling south on West Street and struck a pedestrian walking south in the southbound lane in front of the Metro Gast Station, 662 West St.

The pedestrian, identified only as a 32-year-old female, suffered serious injuries and was transported to The Hospital of Central Connecticut at New Britain General by AMR Ambulance.
"At this time, the pedestrian is known to have suffered significant head injuries and lower extremity injuries and is listed in serious condition," wrote the SPD in a release Tuesday morning.

Police said the driver continued home to his residence a short distance away from the collision site and contacted police.
The driver, the SPD said, is cooperating with the investigation.
