2 Injured After Route 5 Crash In South Windsor

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Two people were taken to local hospitals following a two-car crash on Route 5 Thursday afternoon, according to the South Windsor Fire Department.

Firefighters, police and Ambulance Service of Manchester personnel responded around 1:45 p.m. to John Fitch Boulevard southbound at Pleasant Valley Road.

The right southbound lane was blocked while emergency crews worked at the scene. Photos showed both vehicles with significant damage.

Both patients were transported by ambulance. Officials did not release information about the extent of their injuries.

Squad 2, Engine 4, FP9 and Car 10 handled the crash with support from Rescue 5 and Engine 3, fire officials said.
