SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Two residents of Hillside Drive have been displaced following a fire in their home early Monday afternoon.

Around 2:10 p.m., a 911 caller reported an oven fire at the house on Hillside Drive. The first fire engine arrived just four minutes after the call, and first responders reported flames in the rear of the home, extending out of a rear kitchen window and a sliding glass door, fire officials said.

A second alarm was struck, directing mutual aid fire departments directly to the scene and additional fire departments to provide jurisdictional coverage from headquarters. The bulk of the fire was extinguished around 2:32 p.m., fire officials said.
