SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Police were notified Wednesday of multiple videos which surfaced on TikTok, containing accusations of sexually explicit crimes said to have occurred in South Windsor several years ago.

South Windsor police and the Department of Children and Families have investigated the allegations on two occasions over the past seven years, but they have been uncorroborated, police said in a news release.

TikTok is a short-form video hosting service which tends to appeal to younger users; 41 percent of its users are between the ages of 16 and 24, according to Business Insider.

Police have been in contact with the individual in the TikTok videos as recently as Wednesday morning, when she spoke to a criminal investigator. The investigation into the most recent allegations is active and ongoing, police said.
