SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Fire trucks and crews will likely become a regular sight on Deming Street on Tuesday evenings.

The South Windsor Fire Department said it now has access to a vacant home for training purposes for the foreseeable future, thanks to what it described as an extremely generous local business owner.

Officials said realistic training opportunities can be hard to find while staying in town. The department called the arrangement an incredible opportunity for its members.

Drivers in the area may notice a large fire department presence and some traffic disruptions during training nights. The department said it will do its best to keep any disruptions to a minimum.

The department also thanked Mannarino Builders for allowing firefighters to use the neighboring parking lot during training sessions.
