South Windsor Man Accused Of Drunken Driving

The arrest followed a Tuesday evening complaint about a vehicle leaving the roadway in South Windsor.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A South Windsor man is accused of drunken driving after police said they got a report of a vehicle swerving around the road and nearly hitting a sign.

Walter R. Dule, 65, was arrested Tuesday night after officers were sent to the Buckland Road area for a report of a vehicle that was driving erratically. Police later found the vehicle in the parking lot of 1741 Ellington Road and identified Dule as the driver.

Police said officers believed he had been drinking. They also said an open alcohol container was found on the passenger seat.

Dule was taken into custody after police said he failed field sobriety tests. He was later released on a $2,000 non-surety bond.

He is scheduled to appear May 4 in Manchester Superior Court.
