📰 News we're reading

• South Windsor Police: Driver Did Donuts Leaving Cruise Night (patch.com) — South Windsor police say a Glastonbury man was caught on dashcam doing donuts at the intersection of Sullivan Avenue and Troy Road while leaving Cruise Night at CT Valley Brewing, leading to multiple motor vehicle charges. He later turned himself in at South Windsor police headquarters, was released on bond, and is due in Manchester Superior Court in June.

• South Windsor Council Moves Several Issues Forward (patch.com) — South Windsor’s Town Council just tackled road complaints on Schanck Road, advanced a proposed dry hydrant at 476 Niederwerfer Road, and set a June 1 hearing on Planning and Zoning rules. Members also raised e-bike safety concerns, honored Public Works staff, updated fire marshal roles, and filled seats on the town’s Energy Committee, shaping services residents rely on daily.

• Exercise helps slow tumor growth in mice, with possible implications for humans, Yale study finds (ctpublic.org) — A new Yale study in mice suggests even modest exercise can slow tumor growth by diverting sugar away from cancer cells and into muscles. A South Windsor primary care doctor says he already urges patients to do at least an hour of weekly resistance training, stressing that maintaining muscle mass is key to long-term health and longevity.
