SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Soccer fans in South Windsor looking for a place to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup have several local options, from sports-friendly pubs to restaurants, taverns and taprooms.

Given the massive popularity of the World Cup, sports bars, restaurants and soccer-friendly gathering spots across the country are expected to draw large and energetic crowds throughout the tournament.

Fans looking for a larger soccer atmosphere can also find regional watch parties in the Hartford area. Hartford’s Summer of Soccer includes watch parties at Trinity Health Stadium, Parkville Market and Pratt Street.

The 2026 World Cup runs 39 days, from Thursday, June 11, through Sunday, July 19. For the first time, the tournament features 48 teams, making it the largest World Cup ever.

Fans from around the globe have come to North America for matches being played across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Eleven U.S. cities are hosting matches: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle and East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The tournament also included opening ceremonies in the host nations, with events in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The ceremonies were created by Marco Balich, the Italian producer behind the opening ceremony for the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.
