SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A South Windsor police officer is heading to the 2026 Women's World Lacrosse Championship.
Officer Delaney Rodriguez-Shaw who wears badge No. 226 at the SWPD, will be competing for Puerto Rico in the 2026 World Lacrosse Women's Championship in Tokyo, Japan.
The 16-team tournament starts July 24, with Puerto Rico's first game taking place on July 25 against England.
Rodriguez-Shaw was a standout attacker at Duquesne University then at the University of Massachusetts after playing as a youth in the standout Longmeadow, MA, program and then at Massachusetts powerhouse Longmeadow High School.
In her college career, Rodriguez-Shaw scored 164 goals in 69 games while recording 64 assists. She scored 31 goals on her 64 free position attempts.
She accumulated 67 ground balls and 111 draw controls.
