SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — South Windsor residents looking to clear out unwanted items or shop for secondhand finds will have a chance to do both during the Annual Town-Wide Tag Sale on Aug. 8.
It is sponsored by the Watershed History Collective.
The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will be staged throughout town.
According to the event announcement, the Watershed History Collective started the Town-Wide Tag Sale in South Windsor. The event is timed to coincide with National Garage Sale Day, which the announcement says falls each year on the second Saturday of August.
People who take part will sell items from their own property in South Windsor. The announcement says no permits with the town are necessary for participating sales. Sellers who register will receive a lawn sign showing they are part of the event, and their locations will be added to an interactive Google map that will be available to the public before the sale.
The map is expected to give shoppers an overview of each participating tag sale in town. Organizers said the sales are expected to offer a wide range of items. Anyone can shop at the event, but the announcement says all sales locations must be in South Windsor.
Participants will pay a flat fee of $25 to be included on the public map and to receive a lawn sign. Sellers will keep all proceeds from their own tag sales.
The town-wide sale will tale place rain or shine, according to the announcement. Residents interested in joining the event can expect their sale information to be shared with shoppers through the public map before Aug. 8.
