Serious Crash Closes Highway In South Windsor

Information via South Windsor Fire Department:

I-291 Westbound CLOSED at Exit 2 (Rt. 5), which was reported at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

SWFD, Ambulance Service of Manchester, and CT State Police (H) responded to I-291 westbound between the exit 2 off-ramp and on-ramp for a serious motor vehicle crash.

Car vs. box truck. I-291 is closed with all traffic being detoured off exit 2 and then back on.
