SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A 22-year-old Tolland man suffered serious injuries when his compact sport utility vehicle rear-ended a box truck on Interstate 291 in South Windsor Thursday, state police said.
A report on the incident was released Friday morning.
According to a crash report, at 5:26 p.m. Thursday, the truck was traveling westbound on I-291 between the Exit 2 off and on ramps, in the right lane of two.
The Honda was traveling directly behind the truck and, for an unknown reason, ran into the rear of it, according to a crash report.
Both people in the truck escaped injury, according to a crash report.
The driver of the Honda suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to Hartford Hospital, according to a crash report.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to disabling
damage, according to a crash report.
The incident remains under investigation and state police said any witness to the collision can contact Trooper First
Class John Wilson via email at john.wilson@ct.gov. Furthermore.
"If you have a vehicle equipped with a dashboard camera, and you were driving through the area at the time of the collision, you are also asked to contact TFC Wilson," state police said.
