• Fall 2026 Update for Bissell Bridge Rehabilitation on I-291 in Windsor and South Windsor (ct.gov) — Drivers in South Windsor should prepare for a new I-291 westbound traffic pattern over the Connecticut River, restoring two open lanes between exits 2 and 1D starting Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2026. The long-running Bissell Bridge rehabilitation, costing nearly $17 million, continues through November 2027, so motorists are urged to slow down and expect changing conditions.
• Where cultural history comes alive: Celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Day in Connecticut (wtnh.com) — South Windsor residents are highlighted as Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz visits Nowashe Village to mark Indigenous Peoples' Day and spotlight the town's deep Indigenous history. The outdoor museum offers trails, wigwams, native plant gardens, and hands-on teachings that bring local Native cultures to life for visitors of all ages.
