SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A Hartford teenager was arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection with an armed robbery at a condominium complex during an attempted Facebook Marketplace transaction involving the sale of an iPhone.

James A. Majors Jr., 19, was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree threatening, illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine. Bond was set at $100,000, and he is slated to appear Wednesday in Manchester Superior Court.

On Tuesday morning, police responded to the Strawbridge condominium complex on Mill Pond Drive when a caller said a firearm had been displayed during the attempted transaction. While investigators were attempting to identify the suspect using technological resources, a second armed robbery with a displayed firearm occurred in the same area, Sgt. Mark Cleverdon said.

Police canine Mason responded to the area and was able to locate the victim’s wallet, then tracked directly to the front door of a condo at Mill Pond Drive. Officers contacted the resident, who was shown a Ring camera photograph of the suspect and identified Majors. Police were also told Majors was currently in the basement of the residence, Cleverdon said.

Majors surrendered without incident, and a search warrant of the residence located a black P80 pistol with a high-capacity magazine, Cleverdon said.
