Arrests Reported By Police In South Windsor

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — South Windsor police announced four arrests this week involving two operating-under-the-influence cases, an alleged assault and a risk-of-injury charge stemming from an incident at Veterans Memorial Park.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

Maria E. Ortiz-Sanchez, 39, of Hartford, was arrested July 11 and charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace, police said.

Police responded to MASSCONN, 12 Commerce Way, for a 911 check and alleged Ortiz-Sanchez struck a victim multiple times, causing physical injury. She was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on July 29.

Bethany A. Walker, 43, of Ellington, was arrested July 14 and charged with risk of injury to a child and second-degree breach of peace following a report that an adult was striking children at Veterans Memorial Park, 575 Pleasant Valley Road, police said.

Police alleged Walker struck a juvenile and lifted the child off the ground by the hair. She was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

Walter R. Dule, 65, of South Windsor, was arrested July 13 and charged with operating a motor vehicle under suspension, operating under the influence as a second offense and failure to drive in the proper lane.

Police said officers responded to Sullivan Avenue and Pierce Road after reports of a vehicle being driven erratically. Dule allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on July 27.

Daryll J. Russell, 43, of Vernon, was arrested July 14 and charged with operating under the influence after officers responded to the area of Abbe Road Extension and Oxford Drive for a report of a man unconscious inside a vehicle, police said.

Police alleged Russell was under the influence of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. He was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Aug. 3.
