South Windsor Hockey Teaching New Skaters
What's going on in South Windsor Youth Hockey?

The South Windsor Youth Hockey Association has had a busy 2012-2013 season underway, teaching new skaters how to skate and introducing them to hockey.
The South Windsor Youth Hockey Association presently has 55 kids in its Learn To Skate program. This program spends four weeks teaching kids the basics of ice skating. After completing the four weeks, most of them continue into the In House program.
The In House program continues to teach new skaters how to skate, and also introduces them to the game of hockey.

There are currently 46 kids in the In House program. When the current Learn to Skate program ends in two more weeks, it is expected for the In House program to have 90+ kids in it.
With the current hockey season teaching skating and introducing hockey to 90+ kids, and with the addtional 198 kids who currently play on South Windsor hockey travel teams, this has been a busy and active season off to a great start.

This past weekend of November 10th and 11th saw some great games, too. A couple highlights:
On Sunday, the Pee Wee A (12 and under) team, which is playing at a higher statewide competitive tier known as Tier II, defeated Wallingford, 4-2.
On Sunday, the Squirt B (10 and under) team defeated local rival ECHO in a hard fought 2-1 game.
Next week, after Thanksgiving, with the long holiday weekend, many of the South Windsor hockey teams are expected to travel to compete in multi-day hockey tournaments throughout New Engand.
