Buffet Tribute Band 'Changes in Latitude' Closes Out Concert Series
Several hundred Parrotheads turned out for the final show in the Rockville Bank Foundation Summer Concert Series.
Parrotheads turned out in force at the Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk on Thursday to see Changes in Latitude, the Jimmy Buffet tribute band that closed out the Foundation Summer Concert Series.
The band, headed by Steve Kareta, played popular selections from Buffet’s catalog, including “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” “Margaritaville,” “FIns,” and “Volcano.”
Kareta said it was an honor for the band to be selected as the last to play in the 8-concert series.
“We get a lot of opportunities to open and close concert series and it’s nice that people think that highly of us to put on a show in one of the two most prominent spots on the schedule,” Kareta said before the show. “There are a lot of Parrotheads [Buffet fans] in the area.”
Before the show, the South Windsor Parks and Recreation Department recognized eight employees and volunteers whose service went above and beyond the call of duty this summer.
In addition, The Bike Shop announced that South Windsor resident Russell Gagain had won the raffle for a 20” kids specialized bicycle.
