Burglary Attempt Reported At South Windsor Storage Facility
Police said they believe numerous break-in attempts have been made recently.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Police are investigating an apparent series of attempted burglaries at a Chapel Rd. storage facility, the latest of which was reported around 6:15 a.m. on Easter Sunday.
Police were called to CubeSmart Self Storage at 282 Chapel Rd. upon a report of an active burglary, after a resident in an apartment on site heard and observed three male suspects breaking into or attempting to break into storage units. They subsequently fled the area on foot, Sgt. Mark Cleverdon said.

Entry into the complex was made through a hole cut in the fence. East Hartford police, including a canine unit, also responded to assist, but the suspects were not located, Cleverdon said.
"It is believed that upwards of 30 storage unit were broken into/attempted to be broken into. Owners of the respective units have been calling in to report missing property. Some of the units were entered, but nothing was taken. The case is active at this time and our Criminal Investigations Unit is working on obtaining surveillance footage for review," Cleverdon said in an email.
