Assumption College, Worcester MA

  • Victoria Ostrowski, of South Windsor, is spending the spring semester studying abroad at Assumption's Rome Campus. As the birthplace of the liberal arts and an epicenter of the Catholic faith, at the College's Rome Campus, students immerse themselves in a variety of different cultures. The courses, taught by Assumption faculty who are well-versed in Italian culture and history, don't just take place in a classroom; faculty and students explore Rome's many historic sites, art galleries, churches, and other landmarks to learn about history, art, business and much more. Weekend excursions, included in tuition, to cities like Florence, Naples, Pisa, or Venice encourage students to broaden their cultural, educational, and personal horizons through exploration of these rich historic places.

  • Eastern Connecticut State University theatre and new media studies students attended the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) at Cape Cod Community College from Jan. 28-Feb. 1. Among the student performers and behind-the-scenes technicians recognized was Ryan Rosenbaum of South Windsor, who majors in Accounting. In the category of design, Rosenbaum was awarded a scholarship to the Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas for his sound design in the drama, "Our Town." Rosenbaum was also one of three Eastern student winners who competed in the "Tech Olympics" series of the festival. The series consisted of technology-based challenges that were timed and tested the skills of the participants in various categories.

Emmanuel College, Boston MA

  • In honor of their outstanding academic achievement, Emmanuel College has named more than 800 students to the Dean's List for the fall 2019 semester, including Melissa Tremblay and Charles King, both of South Windsor. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Emmanuel students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a 16-credit semester.

Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison NJ

  • Kiara Breen of South Windsor, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Florham Campus in Madison, NJ, has been named to the Honors List for the fall 2019 semester. To qualify for the Honors List, a student must carry a 3.5 or better grade point average out of a possible 4.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 letter-graded hours (four courses).

Western New England University, Springfield MA

  • Western New England University congratulates close to 500 students named to the fall 2019 President's List. South Windsor honorees and their majors are Jessica Eldredge, Communication/Public Relations Concentration; Alison Croteau, Biology; Kayla Curameng, Neuroscience; Megan Dzen, Business Analytics & Info Man; and Steven Futtner, Business.
  • Western New England University congratulates more than 730 students named to the fall 2019 Dean's List. Honorees from South Windsor and their majors are Pilar A. Betts, Psychology; Jacob William Crawford, Psychology; Nathan Benjamin Curameng, Computer Science; Colin Kevin Ryan, Finance; Matthew K. Greer, Marketing; Connor G.
