SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted in the coming weeks.

College of the Holy Cross, Worcester MA

Andrea Correia of South Windsor has been inducted into Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha) Honor Society, a national honor society recognizing the achievements of first-generation students, alumni, staff, faculty and administrators. Correia, a member of the Class of 2024, was one of 67 students inducted into Delta Omicron, the honor society's Holy Cross chapter. Founded in 2018, Tri-Alpha promotes academic excellence and provides members with a multitude of benefits, including opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, campus and community service and the opportunity to receive mentoring from more senior first-generation students, as well as faculty, staff and alumni who were first-generation students. To qualify for induction into Tri-Alpha students must meet the following criteria: the student has completed at least three full-time terms of study, has achieved an overall grade point average of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, and neither the student's parents, nor stepparents, nor legal guardians, completed a bachelor's degree.

Missouri Valley College, Marshall MO

  • Devon Schoenberger of South Windsor graduated May 6 during the commencement ceremony for Missouri Valley College. Schoenberger, who majored in management, was one of 218 graduates at MVC this spring.

University of the Cumberlands, Williamsburg KY

  • Niraj Baliram Rathod of South Windsor recently graduated from University of the Cumberlands.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

  • South Windsor resident Elizabeth Burnham participated in Spring Musical Little Shop of Horrors at Western New England University on March 31 and April 1-2. In her second production with Stageless Players, Burnham took on the role of Spotlight Operator. She participated in "Play On!"in the fall and was on crew for many productions in high school, including "The Sound of Music," "9 to 5," and "Willy Wonka"(Sound Engineer). She is working toward a BSBA in Business Analytics & Information Management.
