SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable achievements for college students from South Windsor, as reported by readMedia Newswire.

Becker College, Worcester MA

  • A pair of South Windsor students were named to the Becker College Dean's List for the fall 2016 semester. The dean's list recognizes all full-time students (24 or more credit hours earned for the academic year; 12 minimum each semester - September through May) whose term grade point average is 3.50 or higher with no grade below a B- and no incomplete (I) or withdrawal/failing (WF) grades. Honorees from South Windsor are Sierra St.Onge, who is pursing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interactive Media Design, and Tara Patrie, who is pursing a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Science.

  • Castleton student athlete Kimberly Jackson of South Windsor has been selected to the fall 2016 NAC All-Academic Team. The NAC All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes on varsity sports teams who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Student-athletes must also have reached sophomore academic standing and competed in a minimum of two years of varsity competition at their institution. The Fall All-Academic Team represents the sports of men's and women's cross country, field hockey, men's golf, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis, and women's volleyball.

Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta GA

  • Catalina Nguyen of South Windsor earned the distinction of Faculty Honors for fall 2016 at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 4.0 academic average for the semester.

Seton Hall University, South Orange NJ

  • Seton Hall University is pleased to announce that the following students from South Windsor qualified for the fall 2016 Dean's List: Brendan Finnegan and Olivia Zaino. To make Dean's List, students must have at least a 3.4 GPA and can get no grade lower than a C.

University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa AL

  • Jillian Marie Kaczmarek of South Windsor was named to The University of Alabama's Dean's List. A total of 11,758 students enrolled during the 2016 fall semester at UA were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

  • Justin Kohut of South Windsor has been named to the President's List at Western New England University for the fall 2016 semester. Kohut is working toward a degree in Marketing-Communication/Advertising. Students are named to the President's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.80 or higher.
  • Jamie Romanowski of South Windsor, working toward a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, was named to Western New England University's Dean's List for the fall 2016 semester. Students named to the Dean's List earned at least a 3.30 grade point average.
  • Western New England University congratulates 729 students, including five from South Windsor, named to the fall 2016-2017 Dean's List. Students are named to Dean's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher. Honorees from South Windsor are Brian Arnesen, majoring in Mechanical Engineering; Anthony Coralli, majoring in Computer Science; Jessica Eldredge, majoring in Communication - Media Theory & Production; Richard Landino, majoring in Computer Science; and Connor Minguy, majoring in Computer Engineering.
