SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable achievements for college students from South Windsor, as reported by readMedia Newswire.

Bentley University, Waltham MA

• Skyler Douglas of South Windsor was named to the President’s List for the spring 2017 semester. To be named to the President's List, a full-time student must have a grade point average of 3.7 or higher with no course grade below 3.0 during the term.

Colgate University, Hamilton NY

• Anna Pearce of South Windsor is now a graduate of Colgate University in the Class of 2017. Pearce majored in History. A graduate of The Loomis Chaffee School, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree Magna Cum Laude at Colgate's 196th Commencement, May 21.

Elmira College, Elmira NY

• Marissa Silverman of South Windsor graduated Cum Laude at the 162nd Elmira College Commencement on Sunday, June 4. The exercises, held at the Murray Athletic Center, Pine Valley, included the conferring of 296 undergraduate and 32 graduate degrees.

Emmanuel College, Boston MA

• Mary Harper of South Windsor was named to the Emmanuel College Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a 16-credit semester.

James Madison University, Harrisonburg VA

• James Madison University is pleased to announce the following South Windsor students made the president's list for the spring 2017 semester: Kristyn Lariviere, who is majoring in interdisciplinary liberal studies and who is scheduled to graduate in 2017, and Lia Verdi of South Windsor, who is majoring in intelligence analysis and who is scheduled to graduate in 2017.
• A pair of South Windsor students graduated with honors during the May 5, 2017 commencement exercises. Kristyn Lariviere graduated Cum Laude with a degree in interdisciplinary liberal studies. Lia Verdi graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in intelligence analysis.

Lasell College, Newton MA

• Lasell College recently named Sabrina Skenyon of South Windsor to the Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester. Skenyon, whose major is Psychology, is a member of the class of 2018. To achieve the academic honor of being named to the Dean's List, a student must be full-time carrying 12 or more graded credits for the semester with a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

University of Hartford, West Hartford CT

• Thirteen South Windsor residents were among the approximately 1,000 graduates who received their degrees at the University of Hartford's Undergraduate Commencement on Sunday, May 21:
  Victoria Burnham, a painting major in the University's Hartford Art School, received a Bachelor of Fine Arts; Samantha Carr, a criminal justice major in the University's College of Arts and Sciences, received a Bachelor of Arts; Michael Decasperis, a criminal justice major in the University's College of Arts and Sciences, received a Bachelor of Arts; Jeannine Bentley, a nursing major in the University's College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions, received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Alexandra Paz, a nursing major in the University's College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions, received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Ann Ray, a nursing major in the University's College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions, received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Caitlin Connelly, a respiratory care major in the University's College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions, received a Bachelor of Science; Arynn Rosenstein, an integrated elementary and special education major in the University's College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions, received a Bachelor of Science; Matthew Salvati, an electrical engineering major in the University's College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture, received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; Michael Salvati, an electrical engineering major in the University's College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture, received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; Julia Schoedler, a liberal studies student in the University's Hillyer College, received an Associate in Arts; Kevin Xiao, a piano performance major in the University's The Hartt School, received a Bachelor of Music; and Daniel Turkington, a student in the University Studies program in the University's University Studies program, received a Bachelor of Arts.
