Emerson College, Boston MA
- On Sunday, May 14, 2017, a pair of South Windsor residents graduated from Emerson College in Boston. Madison Crichton received a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism, and Samantha Crichton received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Writing for Film and TV. During the College's 137th commencement ceremony, approximately 975 bachelor's degrees were conferred during the undergraduate exercises and nearly 270 master's degrees were conferred during the graduate exercises.

- Three South Windsor residents were among more than 1,600 students who were named to The University of Scranton's Dean's List for the 2017 spring semester. The Dean's List recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester to make the Dean's List. Local students are Emily L. Thompson, a freshman occupational therapy major in the University's Panuska College of Professional Studies; Rebecca A. Western New England University, Springfield MA
- Madeline K. Dugan, of South Windsor, took part in Western New England University's spring production of Beauty and the Beast to sold-out audiences at Western New England University.
Based on the 1740 French Fairytale, La Belle et La Bete, Disney's Beauty and the Beast just celebrated its 25th anniversary this past fall. - Jamie Romanowski has been named to the Dean's List at Western New England University for the spring semester 2017. Romanowski is working toward a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Students are named to the Dean's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher.
