Child Pornography Charges Filed Against South Windsor Man

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A local man was arrested Thursday morning on a warrant charging him with child pornography crimes.

Patrick Joyce, 63, of 93 Spinners Run, was charged with importing child pornography and possession of child pornography. Bond was set at $100,000, and he was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Manchester Superior Court.

The charges stem from an online investigation of users in a chatroom seeking images or discussion about young children. A Florida law enforcement agent supplied information about Joyce communicating with an arrestee in that state, Deputy Chief Scott Custer said.

A subsequent interview and examination of Joyce’s computer found 20 images of child pornography. Investigators then applied for and obtained an arrest warrant, Custer said.
