Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

  • Eastern Connecticut State University's Biology Department hosted its annual honor society induction and award ceremony on April 26. At the event 33 new members were inducted into the Tri-Beta National Biological Honor Society and 12 students were awarded for their outstanding accomplishments in the department. Among the honored was Alicia Robino of South Windsor, who majors in Biology. Robino was inducted into Tri-Beta.

  • South Windsor resident Rachel A. Helmke has been named to Husson University's President's List for the spring 2019 semester. Helmke is a sophomore who is currently enrolled in Husson's Bachelor of Science in Communications Technology with a concentration in live sound technology program. Students who make the President's List must carry at least 12 graded credit hours during the semester and earn a grade point average of 3.80 to 4.0 during the period.

Plymouth State University, Plymouth NH

  • Timothy Lessard of South Windsor has been named to the Plymouth State University Dean's List for the spring 2019 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.69 during the spring semester and must have attempted at least 12 credit hours during the semester. Lessard is a Communication Studies major at Plymouth State.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

  • On Saturday, May 11, on the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) campus quadrangle, 1,019 bachelor's degrees were awarded during the university's 151st commencement ceremony. Adam Bettigole of South Windsor was awarded a bachelor of science degree in computer science with high distinction.
