College Notes: Achievements By South Windsor Students

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Asnuntuck Community College, Enfield CT

• Asnuntuck Community College has announced that Shesmina Chundankandy and Shaun Dirck, both of South Windsor, have achieved Dean’s List status for the spring 2019 semester.

Nazareth College, Rochester NY

• Lauren Vigue of South Windsor graduated Cum Laude from Nazareth College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Science & Disorders during the 92nd Commencement ceremony at the Blue Cross Arena on Sunday, May 12, 2019.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

• Two South Windsor residents were among 1,598 students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the spring 2019 semester: Gillian Cohen, a member of the class of 2020 majoring in mechanical engineering, and Joseph Howell, a member of the class of 2021 majoring in architectural engineering. The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A-level in courses and projects.
