Connecticut Wrestlers Succeed at New England Championships
Danbury and Newtown were 1-2 in team competition, while state schools produced six individual champions and 28 other placewinners.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Wrestlers from Connecticut schools had a successful weekend at the New England High School Championships at the Providence Career & Technical Academy.
Danbury won the team title with 114 points, far outdistancing runnerup Newtown's 67. Foran (sixth), Ellis Tech (eighth), Southington (11th) and Trumbull (19th) also placed in the top 20 after the two-day competition, which drew athletes from 146 schools.
Connecticut produced six champions, seven second-place finishers and 21 other placewinners.
