Coronavirus: TicketNetwork Animal Sanctuary An Option To Get Out

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Area residents seem to be using the animal sanctuary at TicketNetwork as an option for getting outside without violating social distancing guidelines.

The sanctuary is located in a corner of the TicketNetwork campus at 75 Gerber Road E in South Windsor.

TicketNetwork Chief Executive Don Vaccaro said that, over the last couple of weeks, the staff has been seeing a "decent bit" of local residents popping by to spend some outside at the sanctuary.

"The animal sanctuary has provided a much-needed calming moment for a lot of visitors with everything that’s been going on," Vaccaro said. "Our staff have always used it as a place for a quick break and breath of fresh air and it’s great to see other members of our community do the same."

The western corner of the TicketNetwork property includs a vegetable garden to provide produce for the company's onsite complimentary cafeteria, an orchard of peach, apple, cherry and other fruit trees, and the animal sanctuary.

The TicketNetwork garden measures 30,000 square feet and the orchard boasts about 300 trees.

The sanctuary features rescued potbelly pigs, goats, chickens, geese, ducks, pheasants and a llama.
