Driver Flees Crash Scene, Returns to Retrieve Evidence: South Windsor Police
A 25-year-old town man faces several charges after being arrested on a warrant.
South Windsor Police arrested a town man for allegedly fleeing the scene of an accident and returning to retrieve evidence.
Gary Deming, 25, of 489 Clark Street, was arrested Dec. 3 on a warrant and faces several charges for the Nov. 27 incident.
Police say Deming fled the scene after striking another car. A few minutes after the accident, a male rider on a motorcycle rode up to the scene and left with a plastic bumper cover off the evading vehicle, according to police.

Officers later located the motorcycle but the operator fled. The investigating officers later determined that Deming was the involved person and obtained an arrest warrant for him.
Deming was charged with tampering with evidence, interfering with an officer, evading responsibility, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle while license is suspended, no insurance, and several motor vehicle infractions.

Deming was later released on $50,000 court-set bond. He is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Dec. 17.
