Election 2021: Adam Wood Running For South Windsor Town Council

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Republican Adam Wood, 41, is running for a seat on the South Windsor Town Council.

Family in government: No

The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

Fiscal responsibility. Our town continues to spend every dollar coming in and not setting aside enough for future projects. We continously see increases in taxes and the town is not growing the community in a calculated manner. I plan to look for ways to generate tax dollars that are sustainable so property taxes can be lowered. I'll identify the need vs the want. No longer will we spend money simply because it's available.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

I take a common sense approach and do not make assessments based on emotions. I look at what is the best approach for the town and listen to the voters and stand by my decisions. I feel we are lacking leaders who are willing to take a hard stance against things they know will only divide our town. I also believe that citizens should not be beholden to the government. I want to limit government involvement so people and businesses are able to enjoy their lives more. I will also ensure that we have a open government that listens to the citizens and proactively works to include them on major decisions that affect our town.

Accomplishments:

I have served in the military in both peaceful times and during combat. I feel my ability to motivate and lead and mentor others to accomplish the mission is an important skill set to have. Being a leader is about setting the example and I have always done that in my personal or professional life. Being in the military also means that you are able to serve a greater good and put the welfare of others before yourself.

What else would you like voters to know about you?

I promise to put the town and it's people before my myself. I will stand up for what is right and that includes supporting our brave first responders. I will also advocate for a government that works for the people and not one that controls the people.
