For the BOE, it is keeping all of our students and staff safe during COVID. If re-elected, I will continue to work with our outstanding administration, and staff and the rest of the board to follow the medical experts and provide whatever funding or support is needed to keep everyone safe while providing the best education possible.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

With a couple of exceptions during my tenure, our BOE members have done a good job working together, and doing what is best for all of our students.

Accomplishments:

While Board Chair over the past 4 years we, built and opened 2 new elementary schools on time and under budget (with a new Pleasant Valley School in process), expanded our World Language Program, gave all of our students access to their own computer or tablet, and continued to address staff diversity.

Other issues:

The next couple of years are going to be very challenging. I believe our Democratic Team will help get Pleasant Valley School built on time and within or even under budget, help provide an excellent education to each of our students even though state funding is expected to continue to decrease, and most importantly continue to provide guidance and support until COVID is over.

What else would you like voters to know about you?

I have lived in town for over 50 years, went through our school system, been a volunteer youth sports coach for the last 45 years, and would like to continue to provide leadership and do my part to help keep South Windsor a great place to live.
